Moth on the Wall (oil)

This painting is a merging of two separate themes. I first painted the wall. I was fascinated by the colours and texture of the rocks that made up the wall. Often in the morning I would find several enormous moths sitting on the wall. I made a separate study of one of these and later decided to merge the two paintings by cutting out the moth from one painting and glueing it onto the other.
