BRIGITTE AND THE ROSE (oil) |
This painting originated with a photo of Brigitte, an old friend of mine from my walking safari days in Zambia, who was visiting me with her husband Philippe. We had just come back from a visit to the Honde Valley and were all sitting on the verandah of a friend's house having a drink and there was this stunning red rose growing in a flower bed below us. The juxtaposition of Brigitte's bare feet and the rose created an interesting subject. |
